Pair of porcelain vases decorated with "pink family" enamels representing palace scenes, warriors, dragons and floral backgrounds. The shape starts on a circular base that continues with an elongated body in baluster shape. On the neck there are two openwork handles, in the shape of a dragon, which are also elaborated in relief. The designs show meticulous details, especially the patterns of the clothing and the faces, among others.
The paintings are very colourful and vivid, in contrast with the white background. In the large scenes, located on the body, appear a palace courtyard with a general in the centre and various warriors performing battle poses. Both scenes are mirror images, for example the postures and the hands are opposite. On the other side, a palace pagoda is guarding a great dignitary seated behind a desk surrounded by warriors also performing war poses. The decoration shows details such as Buddhist auspicious elements, like "shou" characters. Both scenes are framed by a border of fretwork and peonies.
In good general condition, although one shows a restoration on the neck and mouth.
Provenance: Spanish private collection.
