Description.
Pair of Cantonese glazed porcelain vases. The body is round and elongated, followed by a slender neck ending in a somewhat wider mouth. At the top are two domed, open-rimmed lids. The decoration is divided into cartouches with palace scenes, representing women and high officials. The rest is filled with scrolls, flowers, leaves and butterflies on a golden background. On each side there is a mask as a handle. One of them has been restored and the lids show faults and restorations.
