Pair of monochrome porcelain cups, Qing Dynasty

Pair of small monochrome porcelain cups, glazed in celadon white. The form has a small circular base with a very fine rounded body. Both have on the base a Yongzheng mark '大清雍正年制' (Dà qīng yōngzhèng nián zhì) of six characters, inscribed in a double circle, in underglaze blue. On one of the cups there is a defect in the mouth.

Provenance: European private collection, France. Acquired by the present owner in 1981 in Toulouse from the private collection of Mr. Gerard Pasquier. A photograph of the period is shown.
