Description.
A circular, modelled porcelain bowl with a short foot on which is placed a deep, rounded body that widens towards the mouth to form a flaring profile. Decorated in underglaze blue and white, the body and rim are decorated with a continuous scene of peonies in bloom, accompanied by thin branches ending in leaves and scrolls. In the centre of the bowl, inscribed in a double blue circle, is a large peony in blossom, covered with petals and surrounded by scrolls and leaves. With six-character mark on the base ‘大明成化年製’.
