Porcelain brush container ‘Birds’, Minguo period

Modelled porcelain, in the form of a flat vessel, with a wide circular base and a stepped profile, wider in the centre, showing a continuous scene in underglaze blue enamel of a leafy branch on which small birds are resting. On the base is a six-character seal. The piece is placed on a carved wooden stand made to size.
