Sculpture of Guanyin in glazed porcelain, 20th century

Moulded porcelain in the form of a bone-glazed Guanyin goddess. The figure, executed in great detail, stands barefoot on a wave base. She is dressed in a robe covering her head and wearing elaborate pearl and bead jewellery. She holds a 'ruyi' staff in her right hand and performs 'mudra' gestures with her hands. The face has the attributes of a Buddha with an elongated expression and elongated ears. On the back is a stamped seal.
