Sculpture of the Taoist goddess Xiwangmu, Ming dynasty (1368-1644)
Xiwangmu figure made of bronze, with an associated mandorla on the back and a carved wooden base. The mandorla is made of gilt bronze with the shape of a flaming halo and Buddhist elements.
The queen is seated on a throne with a serene gesture and holding a bone tablet with both hands. She is dressed in robes and a phoenix hat.
