Description.
Elegantly carved jade in a milky hue. The ensemble is made up of three Buddhas, one larger Buddha and two smaller Buddhas accompanying him. All of them are seated, with their legs folded in ‘dhyanasana’ on which they rest their hands in a meditation mudra, holding a small bowl between them. They are dressed in a long robe or ‘dhoti’ at the hips, leaving the chest and arms uncovered, finely adorned with pendants and bracelets. They have a serene expression, with closed eyes and mouth, wide noses and long ears that mark the face. The delicately carved hair is covered with a beautiful lotus-leaf crown. With a box to size. Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) or later.
