Description.
Pigments on canvas, with canvas frame. Depicts a plant with lotus flowers in bloom over a lake with a dragonfly around it. On the right side is an ink inscription stating, "时甲寅清和中瀚仿宋人法"; a signature "凤墀沈振麟画" (Painting by Feng Chi Shen Zhenlin) and a seal. Plus two collector's stamps located on the left side.
Shen Zhenlin (沈振麟), courtesy name Feng Chi (凤墀), was a painter who lived during the 19th century. He became an important court painter in the late Qing dynasty for making beautiful landscapes with flowers, birds, insects and fish, using a meticulous and realistic brushstroke.
It presents slight faults and some folds but it is in good condition.
