Shoushan Seal ‘Lion and Cub’, Qing dynasty

A carved Shoushan stone seal, deep reddish with brownish flecks. It has a quadrangular base adorned with beautifully engraved landscapes, on which is placed the image of a majestic lioness, her body reclining on her bent legs, her head cocked to one side, looking down at the small cub climbing on her back. All of this is executed with great attention to detail. On the base is a stamp with multiple characters carved in bas-relief. With custom-made box.
