Description.
Silver pendant in the shape of a ball, with openwork and carved details and a cord ending in a handle. The hemispheres are connected by hinges and the hook-shaped front is a clasp. Incense was placed inside to scent spaces or for use around clothing. The interior has a bowl attached to a double ring to keep it balanced at all times and to prevent spillage.
The outside design features petal-shaped lobes that are decorated interspersed with winged birds and lotuses. The top and bottom have a scrolling border of flowers and in the centre a six-petalled flower in front.
