Description.
Silver-plated metal with engraved decoration. The lid is decorated with a cherry blossom branch with a poem about nature in the upper left corner. The poem is signed "姚茫父" Yao Mangfu and stamped. It also has a three-character rectangular punch or seal stamped on the base "淳青阁" (Chu Qing Ge).
The box is rectangular in shape and consists of a lid and a bronze-covered ink container inside.
Yao Mangfu (1876 - 1930) was a calligrapher, painter and poet of the late Qing dynasty. This painter excelled, especially in the arts of bronze carving between calligraphy and painting. His art is between ancient and modern times.
In very good condition with patina, light wear and tear.
