Description.
Carved aquamarine, of a beautiful transparent blue colour. It has a quadrangular base on which is placed the image of an archaic dragon. It is shown reclining, with its elongated body curled in on itself, on which rests its large head with its sharp fanged jaws, and a large mane crowning the composition. The three-character incised seal ‘澄观斋’, with traces of red sealing wax, is set at the base. It shows wear due to ageing.
