Lot 151.
Description.

Small porcelain fairy tale with ‘斗彩’ decoration. The rounded body widens slightly at the mouth and rests on a short foot. Both parts are decorated with a thin rim of embossed silver, and the mouth is decorated with fine lines and successive scrolls.

The body, made of white ceramic, is decorated with fine decorations in soft underglaze blue and yellow, green and red enamels arranged over the glaze. These glazes show delicate intertwining branches with lotus blossoms in full bloom and a narrow decorative border at the foot.

Stamped on the base with ‘大清雍正年制’.

Doucai or ‘斗彩’ is a technique used in Chinese ceramic decoration since the early 15th century, characterised by underglaze blue outlines, which are then filled with beautiful decorative glazes.
