Oil on canvas. Signed lower left "To Ricardo Simó-Raso / his compadre, friend and companion Joaquín Pacheco / 15 - V - 1909". At the top indicates: "The yntereses created / Benavente / Pantalón Simó-Raso". The work presents restorations.
Ricardo Simó-Raso (1872 - 1938) was a Spanish actor and theater director known for his performances at the Teatro Lara in Madrid and the Tratro Cervantes. Among many other roles, he played Señor Pantalón in "Intereses creados", a play by Jacinto Benavente (1866 - 1954). The painting pays tribute to his performance.
