Description.
A carved jade ‘簋’ vessel of a deep spinach-green colour. It has a quadrangular base, with a narrow stepped and subtly flared foot, above which rises the rounded-walled body, on which are four handles in relief from which hang movable circular rings. Crowning the piece is a domed lid that ends in a square projection with curved edges. The surface is decorated with bas-reliefs of archaic animals, as are the handles, which are placed on traditional taotie masks.
