Description.
A beautiful dark green stamp with subtle gold flecks. It has a quadrangular, three-tiered base, on which is a free-standing image of a traditional ‘Foo’ lion. The animal is lying down, with its thick paws bent, holding a large sphere in one of its paws. The head is upright, with its eyes raised and its jaws open, protruding its broad tongue. Both the mane and the tail have been executed in great detail, with incised lines and fine reliefs. Under the base is a seal engraved with four characters ‘道光宸翰’, which show traces of red sealing wax. Qing dynasty (1644-1912) or later.
