Turquoise and agate necklace, Liao-Jin culture

Necklace with six carved agate beads in different shapes, four oval carved turquoise beads in similar sizes and a central piece also of carved turquoise. Joined by a decorative cord (later), and together with small pieces of various materials. In total there are eleven beads that show wear due to their age. 

This type of bead is characterized in the "grassland culture", in Chinese "草原文化" (Coyuán wénhuà), to adorn and form part of the regional dress of this culture in China. 

Total length: 52 cm approx. Size turquoise beads: 1.9 x 2.5 cm; 1.1 x 1.6 cm. Size agate beads: 2.3 x 1.1 x 1.9 cm; 1,4 x 1.8 cm (approx). Total weight: 98 g
