Description.
A white jade ring with carved bas-relief decorations. It shows a continuous mountain landscape with three rams, two standing and one lying down, around a large Ying Yang symbol framed by sinuous clouds.
This type of ring is placed on the pulling finger, which is the thumb of the right hand, to hook the string when practising archery. Over time they have become more decorative than functional. During the Qing Dynasty their production became very popular. Qing Dynasty (1644 - 1912)
