Description.
A white jade archer's ring with hand-engraved and bas-relief decorations. Composed of two thin bands arranged at the ends with a repeating wave motif, and a thick central band showing a succession of auspicious characters. It shows patina due to age.
Rings of this type are worn on the thumb of the right hand to attach the string when archery is practised. Over time they have become more decorative than functional. During the Qing dynasty their production became very popular. Qing Dynasty (1644 - 1912) or later
