Description.
Buddha-figure made of white jade from Hetian, in one piece. It shows the effigy of ‘Maitreya Buddha’, designated as the successor of ‘Sakyamuni Buddha’, dressed in a robe, with a voluminous body, round face and a naturally joyful expression. He assumes a reclining posture and is accompanied by children. The details of the depiction are remarkable. It is in very good condition. Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) or later.
