White jade pendant, Han style

A white jade pendant in the shape of a 'bi' with carved bas-relief decorations arranged in a border depicting archaic motifs and interlacing geometric forms running around the perimeter. The plan is circular and the shape is flat and narrow. The 'bi' discs were made for ceremonial purposes dating back to the Neolithic period. They have a patina and slight age-related wear.
