Description.
Carved white jade, in the form of a winged mythical beast with a sinuous, coiled body and a fierce gaze, with a tilted head ending in a curved, sharp beak. It is set on a quadrangular base with incised characters. Western Han Dynasty (206 BC - AD 8) or later.
