Description.
Hetian carved white jade snuff bottle, transparent and pure, decorated with scenes in relief, located on the outside. The shape is cylindrical, but flattened, and stands on an oval foot, without inscriptions, and under a circular neck with a small hole in the center. The reliefs show a traditional landscape with lotus flowers and, on the other side, two celestial ladies. In very good condition for the antique, without lid.
The scenes depicted relate to the modism "五福臨門" (Five blessings) which is very popular in Chinese culture. The blessings it represents are as follows: longevity, wealth, well-being, virtue and good death.
Provenance: Important collection of Tommy Lam, Hong Kong, since 1980.
