Description.
Bird carved in yellow jade with subtle ochre patches. It has a flat body, with a short fan-shaped tail, wings folded over the body and the head tilted to the right. The beak is curved and has a hole in the centre for use as a pendant. The simple, archaic-style decorations are engraved on the piece. Zhou Dynasty (770-221 BC) or later.
