Description.
An elegant enamelled porcelain vase. It has a rectangular base and a flared foot, on which is placed the wide, curved body, flanked by two thin handles in the form of an archaic dragon. It is covered with a rich orange-coloured glaze, in which fine bamboo and cherry blossom branches stand out in negative, allowing the white of the porcelain to show through under the coloured glaze. The handles, decorated with fine reliefs of waves and scrolls, are enamelled in underglaze blue, following the theory of complementary colours. On the base is a six-character seal ‘大清乾隆年制’, in underglaze red.
Size: 41 x 17 x 31 cm
