Description.
Carved jade in white and ochre tones with light staining. It depicts two of the so-called ‘three Han treasures’. The smaller one is a figure ‘翁仲’in the form of an old man or sage, with a rectangular, rounded body and triangular head, all carved by incising. The second is known as ‘施南佩’, a figure similar in use to a compass, composed of two rectangular bodies in curved profile surmounted by a reclining S-shaped hitch. Han Dynasty (206 BC-220 AD) or later.
