It is very important that our Users know that all the ivories, both carved and non-carved, that we put in our auction have been carefully reviewed and studied by our experts, requesting all the necessary information to determine that these pieces have not been illegally obtained and that meet all the necessary requirements of the Cites and Soivre animal protection legislation. In the case of antiquities, the specimens drawn up before the entry into force of the Regulation, ie before 1 June 1947, were excepted from the prohibition indicated in the preceding paragraphs. if no CITES certificate is required, all our lots of ancient ivory are accompanied by a Certificate of Guarantee prior to 1947. There are a number of exceptions to this prohibition, it is possible to prove that the specimens have been acquired or introduced in Spain before 1 January 1986.
At present, in Spain, it is not possible to sell pieces of ivory without CITES documentation, except as indicated above
