Description.
Glazed ceramic jug and bowl, possibly used to hold medicinal products or other substances. The jug has a circular base and a globular body, which widens at the shoulders, where there is a narrow mouth. The bowl also has a circular foot and a rounded profile, which expands into a wide rim. Both pieces are decorated with fine stripes and stylised characters in blue on a white background, on which is a network of crackle-paintings from firing. Qing dynasty (1644-1912) or later.
