内容描述.

Agate snuff bottle carved in one piece and a lid. The body takes on different shades of agate that are chosen to represent crabs. The lid is located in the centre of the upper part. The transparency and quality of the carving are exceptional, and it is in very good condition.

Heilongjiang agate is found in the northwest of the province. This carbon dioxide mineral is of gem grade and is a variant of chalcedony. Agate from this region has beautiful and warm colours, rich colours and a hard texture, very useful for carved crafts. This product was a tribute in the Qing dynasty.

Crabs mean "wealth from all directions" since ancient times and thus have become one of the symbols of traditional culture. People think that crabs are strong and guard wealth because when they grab something they do not let go easily. In addition, their eight legs refer to the eight directions or talents.
