Extraordinary and unique set of miniature bonsai pots made by the Chinese master Mr. Gu Shaopei, world renowned in the art of Yixing ceramics. He is praised for his excellent work and delicacy with art-making small bonsai pots.
The set includes a complete collection of 12 miniature pots with various shapes in their original box and in perfect condition.
The pieces are miniatures that have an approximate measure between 5-9 cm.

Notes:
Gu Shaopei 顾绍培, called Tao Yuan Gu, was born in Yixing, Jiangsu in 1945 into a family of potters. He is a master member of the Chinese National Industrial and Art Association, a member of the Jiangsu Provincial Industrial Art Association, a grand master of Jiangsu Province and an industrial engineer. He studied at the Yixing School of Ceramics in 1958 and then began working with Mr. Chen Fuyuan, a well-known teacher in the matter. Later, he was the better student of the first teacher Mr. Gu Jinzhou 顾 景 舟, recognized worldwide as a potter.
He has dedicated his whole life making articles in purple clay, the study and development of new techniques. He was awarded with a gold medal by the Laibixi International Exhibition in 1984 for the piece "A purple sand bottle with 100 words of longevities" and commended with the gold medal of "5.1" as an excellent national member of science and technology in 1985.
He visited Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong and Taiwan among other countries showing his skills with the Yixing purple clay as a recognized master in the technique and research of this art.
He is lauded around the world as the second master, only after his master, in making pieces using the Yixing clay. Furthermore, he is the director and chief engineer of Yixing Jinda ceramic Art Co., Ltd.
Some of his works are in the Yixing Pottery Museum. His works have been sought after by collectors of the Yixing arts.
