Bronze and enamel ‘Heron and Deer’ box, Qing dynasty

A gilt-toned bronze box. It has a circular body, decorated with rectangular cartouches containing small landscapes with relief details and coloured enamels of a stag and a heron under the shade of a large tree. The mouth is decorated with a border with embossed details of vegetal motifs and characters, and covered by a concave lid. It shows wear and patina from ageing.
