Carved green jade box, 19th - 20th century

The outside of the lid is delicately carved green jade-spinach with religious and mythological elements. On the front of the lid is a Buddhist medallion with a lobed square surrounded by a lobed square and fretwork borders. On the sides are mythical 'taotie' beasts. In very good condition, with patina and wear.
