Carved jade disc ‘Beast’, Han style

A carved jade disc, copper-coloured with ochre flecks. The surface shows the image of an archaic-style mythical beast with a coiled body covered with geometric motifs and a flat head. The base is decorated with incised scrolls. It shows wear and age-related losses.
