Chinese painting ‘Almond Blossom’, signed Zou Yigui

Pigments and watercolour on canvas, with a carved canvas frame. Depiction of a large almond tree branch in blossom, on which small birds with wings are perched. On the left side there is writing that reads: ‘綽约新妆玉有辉，素娥千队雪成围，我知姑射贞价子，天遣霓裳试羽衣，影落空階初月冷，香生别院晚风微，玉环飞燕无相敌，笑比江梅不恨肥’。‘壬午春 小山邹一桂’. Next to this is arranged the signature ‘邹一桂’ (Zou Yigui, 1686 - 1772) and two seals.
