Dingyao ‘Luohan’ porcelain figurine, Qing dynasty

Porcelain modelled in the form of Luohan, in a seated position, with his legs bent. He has a serene expression, with half-open eyes, closed mouth and elongated ears framing the face. The body is covered by a long robe full of folds, exposing only the chest, feet and hands. It is set on a base in the shape of a steep rock. The piece is covered with a rich ‘Dingyao’ glaze of an elegant white colour that blends with the brown colour of the base.
