Lacquered wooden box with dragon, Qing dynasty.

The box has a circular shape with a lid and is made of carved and lacquered wood. In the center of the lid is depicted a large flying dragon with five claws, holding a flaming pearl, surrounded by clouds and over a raging sea. The scene is framed by a geometric border and on the outside of the lid by a border of waves. The exterior of the drum has cartouches with auspicious elements inside and surrounded by a geometric background formed by interwoven lines.
