"Lotuses" lacquered wooden box, Qing dynasty

Small carved wooden box, circular, with a rounded body and a concave lid. The exterior is decorated with a deep red lacquer covering a relief scene of beautiful lotuses in bloom surrounded by large, sinuous leaves. Shows age wear.
