Rectangular red agate plaque, Qing dynasty.

Agate with reddish tones carved on both sides. It depicts a rooster under a four-character seal. And on the other side a medallion surrounded by clouds with an animal inside. Agate is a semi-precious gemstone composed of a combination of micro-crystals formed in bands with other rocks. Collectors are attracted to the stone's infinite variety of shades, with red being the finest of them. It presents a small blow in the upper right part.
