Sancai glazed box, Tang style

A kaolin ceramic, modelled and covered with a ‘Sancai’ glaze (三彩) in amber, green and cream. It has a circular body on which is a concave lid, all decorated with reliefs of elongated spiralling branches and a medallion on the lid of a beautiful bird surrounded by branches and leaves.
