Shoushan ‘Beasts’ stone seal, Qing dynasty

An orange-coloured Shoushan carved stone, with a vertical format and rounded edges. It is richly decorated with a continuous relief scene of elongated mythical beasts against a sky of winding ruyi clouds surrounding large coins. On the base is a seal with bas-relief characters.
