内容描述.
A white Hetian jade archer's ring (板指) with the outside decorated with gold-toned reliefs and veins. It shows a continuous scene with sages, musicians, lotuses, pine trees and mountains. The shape of the ring has a narrower centre and a rounded upper edge. It is in very good condition and shows patina from age.
The elements depicted are related to good luck, gods and happiness. In addition, the pine (松樹) is a type of tree that is often depicted in the arts because of its significance of longevity and strength. It is a tree that can thrive in wild places and lives for many years, just like the lotus.
Provenance: Important collection of Tommy Lam, Hong Kong, since 1980.
