White jade plaque with characters, Western Han dynasty

An oval white jade plaque with openwork carving and decoration on both sides in relief. In the centre are two characters enclosed by a frame of spirals formed by dragons in a symmetrical design. The forms show great detail in representation and relief. It is in good condition, with wear and patina due to age.
