Yuhuchunping “Fish” vase with white and red enamels, Yuan style
Modelled ceramic vase-shaped, with a narrow circular foot and an elegant, drop-shaped body that tapers into a slender neck ending in a flaring mouth. These vessels were originally used to contain and serve wine.
The exterior is decorated with red enamel on a pure white background, forming a series of horizontal borders that are arranged on top of each other. In the lower area there is a succession of cartridges with small leaves inside; above this is a central scene, wider than the others, which shows the interior of a pond with beautiful carp swimming among algae and bubbles. Finally, there are three other borders showing cartouches with leaves, geometric elements and elongated banana leaves. It shows damage and age-related wear.
